A Diagnosis Doesn’t Have to Mean a Life of Fear Around Food.
Finding out you have pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes can feel like the ground just shifted under your feet. Suddenly everything you thought you knew about eating gets called into question, and the information coming at you from every direction can feel overwhelming, contradictory, and honestly a little scary. At Weight Inclusive Dietitian, we slow all of that down and help you make sense of what your body actually needs, without stripping the joy out of eating in the process.
Who This Is For
This program is designed for people who are:
- Newly diagnosed with pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes and don’t know where to start
- Living with kidney disease and struggling to understand what they can and cannot eat
- Afraid of carbohydrates or protein because of things they’ve been told by doctors or read online
- Confused about blood sugar management and how food actually affects their numbers
- Tired of rigid meal plans that leave no room for culture, preference, or real life
- Managing both diabetes and kidney disease at the same time and feeling like the nutrition rules contradict each other
If any of that sounds familiar, you are in exactly the right place.
What We Work On Together
Every session is built around your specific diagnosis, your lifestyle, and your relationship with food.
Here is what we typically cover:
Understanding your diagnosis We break down what pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes actually mean for your body in plain language, so you feel informed and empowered rather than confused and afraid.
Letting go of carb fear Carbohydrates are not the enemy. We teach you how different carbs affect your blood sugar, how to choose and portion them in a way that works for your body, and how to enjoy them without guilt or anxiety.
Navigating protein with kidney disease Kidney disease adds another layer of complexity because protein recommendations can feel like they conflict with diabetes guidance. We help you find the right balance for your specific stage of kidney disease so you’re not white-knuckling every meal.
Blood sugar management through food Learn how meal timing, food combinations, and eating patterns affect your glucose levels so you can make informed choices that keep your numbers in a healthier range without obsessing over every bite.
Building a realistic eating plan We don’t hand you a generic meal plan and send you on your way. We build something around the foods you actually like, the culture you come from, and the life you’re already living.
Managing both conditions at once If you’re dealing with diabetes and kidney disease simultaneously, we specialize in helping you navigate the overlap so you’re not getting pulled in two different directions.
How We Work Together
Sessions are conducted virtually so you can join from anywhere in the country. We work one-on-one to make sure every session is fully focused on your needs and your progress.
Insurance coverage: Most insurance plans cover diabetes education and medical nutrition therapy. We will verify your benefits before your first appointment. We also offer reasonable pay-out-of-pocket rates for those without coverage or who prefer not to use insurance.
We are not in network with Medicare or Medicaid at this time.
A Few Important Things to Know
